RAPEXTM is a new product that was developed to empower women to defend themselves against rapists. RAPEXTM is a device used by women to prevent rape and to identify the rapist. The RAPEXTM prototype was launched on 31 August 2005, at Kleinmond, Cape Province, South Africa.

The RAPEXTM Team is in the process of compiling a tender document in order to source the most suitable investors/manufacturers/distributors globally. Interested parties can forward their contact details to the following address: info@rapestop.net.

Market research results for the South African market will be shared with interested parties to enable them to assess their local market potential. The RAPEXTM Team will communicate the progress in establishing a global distribution network through this website.

I believe this is another tool given to Women to take revenge. Pleanty of women who hate their boyfriends or Husbands can use this assault. This is a Man haters way to attack men with a tool. I hope govenrnments would block and companies that support this criminal activity would be held responcible.

I don't think that this is a revenge tool for women. Sure there are women who would misuse it, but think about the little girl who gets raped? The woman who gets raped? How can she protect herself? Instead of thinking that every woman is a man hater, a woman needs to protect herself if that situation pops up. Sure she would need to be very cautious when she's out, but no woman deserves to get raped.

As a woman, I think to use this on a lover would be wrong, yes, but many of us are forced to live in areas where rape and violent crime against women goes unreported, even when police are involved, they do not think it is serious enough to pursue an investigation. When I was sexually assaulted in 1997 I was told by police "What, do you have a boyfriend or something, no? Then what are you bitching about, you should track that man down and thank him." I tried to file charges against this officer and his department but I did not have the finances necessary to pay legal fees, and most of the primary evidence is lost within a few hours after a rape occurs. I hope rape x will soon be available but I also hope that a severe punishment would be placed on people who would abuse these devices, which are clearly a weapon and should only be used in defense. To do otherwise is to create a hardship for women who truly could benefit from the device.

Its more important to protect the innocent than to worry about how someone would misuse them.
